Raise cash for Wobbly by having great fun at events

There will be fun for everyone at two fundraising events next month for a local Parkinson’s Disease charity.

Funding Neuro was set up by Bearsden man Bryn Williams to raise funds for Parkinson’s Disease after he was diagnosed with the condition in 2007, aged 36.

The married father of two created a light-hearted ‘Wobbly Williams’ blog and website to provide information and support to sufferers and later founded Funding Neuro to raise cash to find a cure for Parkinson’s.

Their annual golf day - the Gavin Hastings Classic - takes place at The Carrick on Thursday, September 4.

This is a stunning course but it won’t be an ordinary day- think hickory shafts, forfeits, jelly tees and more. Teams try to win the competition and individuals can win the Strider Cup too. Funding Neuro needs 4-balls to take part, £500 gets your team into the competition as well as a goody bag, refreshments and hot rolls, food on the course, and dinner in the evening.

It’s A Knockout - an inflatable assault course - is on Saturday, September 6 on Glasgow Green. There will be bubbles, humour and a touch of irreverence into everything. The charity needs teams of up to 10 to take part. Each person must pay a £20 deposit, and the minimum sponsorship is £100 per person/£1,000 team.
