The legendary ‘Jamesie’ from Rab C Nesbitt fame, Tony Roper, was at Milngavie Bookshop to support Small Business Day on Saturday.
Tony was also at the store to promote his new autobiography, called ‘I’ll No Tell You Again’.
Milngavie Bookshop owner Susan Frize said Tony was very entertaining to listen to and thanked him for taking the time out of his busy schedule to support small businesses.
More than 25 people turned up to the book shop to listen to Tony and ask questions about his life before and after his shot to fame as Rab C Nesbitt’s side kick.
Mrs Frize said: “It was really enjoyable meeting him. He spoke for about half an hour and was very funny.”
She added: “He read three different extracts from his book from different times in his life and was very engaging with the audience.”
After the talk Tony signed copies of his book and chatted with customers about the importance of small businesses in the community.
Small Business Day aims to counteract the threat to small shops from the internet.
