YOUNGSTERS from across the district got the chance to put their artistic talents to the test when they took part in a puppet-making workshop in Mugdock Country Park visitors’ centre on Saturday.
Children up to the age of 12 were encouraged to let their imaginations run wild as part of the very popular Puppet-Stew company’s innovative approach to creating a range of unique puppets out of different materials and fabric.
The event proved very popular and youngsters proudly showed off what they had created at the end of the three hour drop-in session.
With more than 12 years experience in art therapy and performance workshop for kids and adults, Puppet-Stew’s emphasis is very much on having fun in a friendly environment with support from trained puppet makers.
The sessions are also designed to be in line with the Curriculum for Excellence and the workshops give pupils the opportunity to engage in cross curricular activities using a range of skills.
