Pupils in East Dunbartonshire did well in their exams

Exam pass rates for secondary school pupils in East Dunbartonshire continue to improve - according to initial analysis of SQA exam result data.

There has been an improvement in almost all the National Indicators, which include Advanced Higher, Higher, Intermediate one and Intermediate two as well as in Standard Grade.

Compared to both the 2011 and 2012 results, performance levels at Higher and Advanced Higher levels continue to be strong. Students sitting Standard Grade examinations continue to maintain their high level of attainment.

Councillor Eric Gotts, Convener of Education said, “As an education authority we have continued to build on our already excellent reputation.

“East Dunbartonshire is consistently among the top performing areas in Scotland when it comes to pupil attainment and it is good news that once again, our young people and teachers haveworked hard to achieve successes.

“Once again I would like to congratulate pupils and teachers on the high quality of results and the continuing hard work undertaken.”
