Controversial plans to build new houses on greenbelt land in Bearsden have been discussed at a public meeting last week.

Residents were invited to Kessington Hall to hear about proposals by developers Mansell Homes following a planning application currently being considered by council planners.

The plan is to build 80 homes on a site at Kessington Farm, close to Boclair Academy, and adjacent to Inveroran Drive.

A spokesperson for Mansell Homes, said: “We held public consultations prior to submission of the application to enable comments raised by the local community to be considered. If approved the development will deliver much needed affordable homes for the area, entry level private homes and a boost to local employment opportunities.

However in last week’s Herald, residents were angry at the development.

Willie Gillies from Inveroran Drive said: “They want to build all around my house. The development is too dense.”
