The surgery, taking place online on Friday, February 12 between 2-3pm on Microsoft Teams, is open to all constituents throughout Strathkelvin and Bearsden to raise issues regarding their local community and to hear more about the work East Dunbartonshire Police have achieved during the pandemic.

The news comes amid a funding boost increase for Police Scotland, with a total budget of £1.3 billion being handed to the Scottish Police Authority for the upcoming year.

Rona said: “East Dunbartonshire Police have been at the forefront of keeping our communities and streets safe during the pandemic. They have done incredible work and deserve our utmost gratitude and support.

“This joint surgery is another example of the excellent working relationship I have with our local community policing team. It’s an opportunity for my constituents to raise any concerns they have and for Police Scotland and I to work on any solutions we can provide.

"It’s important – now more than ever – that our community sticks together as we progress through the pandemic to brighter days ahead.

“I would encourage anyone throughout Strathkelvin and Bearsden to come along and make their voices heard.
