East Dunbartonshire MP Amy Callaghan makes virtual return to Westminster

East Dunbartonshire MP Amy Callaghan, who spent four months in hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage, has made a virtual return to the House of Commons this week.

The SNP MP had to undergo two life-saving surgeries after collapsing at home in June last year.

In a tweet marking her online return to parliament, she posted: "Not even that long ago, this felt so far off".

Amy, who has been working behind the scenes for some months, also tweeted: “Delighted to return to (virtual) Parliament, representing the people of East Dunbartonshire

"My heartfelt thanks to colleagues and well wishers across the country.”

She was welcomed back by colleagues at Westminster, including Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
