Police are warning people to be extra vigilant after two cars worth a total of £18,000 were stolen from the driveway of a house in Bearsden at the weekend.

The thieves forced open a door to break into a house at Carse View overnight on Saturday and stole two sets of car keys.

They then made off with the Vauxhall Sapphire and Skoda Fabia cars.

Police Constable Alistair Muir, at Kirkintilloch Police Office, said: “We want to warn people to keep their car keys and other valuables out of site in the house.

“Don’t leave them hanging up anywhere in your hallway or sitting out somewhere, as this gives opportunist thieves the perfect chance to strike.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to the car theft to contact them on 101 with any information.
