Police plea to help trace missing man

Police are asking for the public to help them trace a 46-year-old man who has been missing from the Robroyston area.

John ‘Kenny’ Wright was last seen by family members around 5.40pm on Thursday, September 29 and officers said they are extremely concerned for his wellbeing.

The missing man is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build with shaved grey hair and a short but full greying beard.

When he was last seen he was wearing a black jacket with a fur trimmed hood, bleached blue jeans and brown lace up boots. He also wears yellow metal rimmed glasses.

Extensive enquiries are underway. Mr Wright is known to go for walks with his young son around the Robroyston area. It is out of character for Kenny not to be in contact with his family and friends and he has never gone missing before.

Sergeant Catriona McConchie from Shettleston Police Office said: “There are concerns for Kenny’s wellbeing and family and friends are extremely worried about him.

“He is known to frequent the countryside and forest areas of Robroyston and I would appeal to any dog walkers to keep an eye out and report any sightings of him to police.

“Anyone with information regarding Kenny’s whereabouts are asked to contact officers at Shettleston Police Office via 101.

“I would also appeal directly to Kenny to please get in touch with someone to let us know he is safe.”
