Police look to trace man who crashed car into wall

Police at Kirkintilloch are appealing for information after a man allegedly fled the scene of a car crash.

The smash happened at around 2.45pm on Friday, March 4, when red coloured Audi A3 car crashed into a wall in Gavell Road, Twechar, near to the canal at the Biffa waste site.

A man who was passing by stopped to assist however the driver of the Audi ran off towards Queenzieburn.

Constable Joseph Fitzsimmons at Kirkintilloch Police Office said: “The driver of the Audi A3 is described as aged between 30 to 35 years and was wearing a light grey hooded top, white t-shirt, jeans and white trainers.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who either witnessed the crash or saw the driver running off towards Queenzieburn afterwards.

“I’d especially like to speak to the man who stopped to assist the driver shortly after the crash and ask that he contacts police immediately.”
