Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a ram raid on a shop in Garrowhill yesterday (Thursday, December 10).
The crime happened at around 3.05am when a stolen Vauxhall Astra was deliberately driven into the front of Garrowhill Superstore in Thornbridge Road, Glasgow, causing extensive damage to the front of the building.
The three occupants of the car then stole a quantity of cash from the shop then made off in the vehicle. It was found abandoned in the Shettleston area a short time later.
Detective Sergeant Stephen McGrath of Greater Glasgow Division said: “Enquiries are at an early stage to trace the men responsible for this incident.
“They were all wearing dark coloured clothing and officers are currently studying CCTV footage in an effort to gather further information on this crime.
“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the black Vauxhall Astra before or after the incident in the local area to come forward to police.”
