Police arrest man in Bearsden

Local police officers arrested a 31-year-old man in Drymen Road, Bearsden, yesterday (Thursday, August 27) at about 12pm because he didn’t have permission to be absent from a low supervision prison.

Passers by told The Milngavie and Bearsden Herald that they had seen six police officers at Milngavie train station in the morning of the same day.

The police informed us that they had gone there because they’d received reports that the man was there.

He was on unescorted leave from Her Majesty’s Prison Castle Huntly near Dundee as he had extended his time at liberty without permission.
