The police are appealing for help to find a vulnerable woman who’s gone missing in Glasgow.
Qiu Yan Lin (32), a Chinese national, who lived in a flat in Shettleston Road, is described as 5ft 8 inches tall, of slim build, with short brown hair and brown eyes.
Qiu Yan was last seen in ASDA in the Parkhead Forge on Tuesday, August 4 around 6.20pm.
When last seen she was wearing a ‘stripy’ top, denim jeans and a green coloured long ‘Parka’ style jacket. Qui Yan does not speak English, however, it is believed she understands some English words. She speaks Mandarin.
Detective Inspector Colin Hailstones, of Greater Glasgow Division, said: “We are very concerned for Qui Yan’s wellbeing.
“She came into the country a few months ago, and was living in supported accommodation in a flat in Shettleston Road when she went missing.
“The circumstances in which she went missing is concerning to us, as there was no indication that she would be leaving and she did not appear to have taken all of her belongings from the flat.
“We understand that she has access to a mobile phone and a small amount of money, so she may have the means to travel within the UK.
“At this time we have concerns that she may be at risk of harm, and I would like to speak to anyone urgently who may have any information on her current location, as it is imperative we find her safe and well.”
The police are carrying out door to door enquiries, speaking to her neighbours and studying CCTV footage to help with their enquiry.
Detective Hailstones added: “I’d like to reiterate my appeal – do you recognise Qui Yan? Did you see her in ASDA on Tuesday evening? Please contact us with any information you have.”
