Play your part in keeping culture and leisure on track

Fresh faces are needed to help deliver leisure and cultural services across East Dunbartonshire.

The EDLC Trust oversees the delivery of local leisure and cultural services - including three leisure centres, eight libraries, a museum, art gallery, arts centre, sports development and active schools programmes.

Applications are being sought for the appointment of two independent directors to join the partner and independent directors on the board.

Trust Chair, Scott Hill said: “We would like to hear from people who have an interest in public service and who are committed to promoting leisure and cultural services. This is a great opportunity to shape the delivery and development of our current range of services.

“As a director you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and reviewing the performance of the Trust. On average, directors will serve on the board and Sub Groups around eight times per year. This may involve travelling to venues throughout East Dunbartonshire as and when required. However, meetings of the Board will normally be held in Kirkintilloch.

“The directors are voluntary roles, however they are entitled to receive costs incurred while serving, including travel, subsistence and all reasonable expenses.”
