The project was partly funded by Dawn Homes as part of their Kirkintilloch Road development.

The new facility incorporates a wide variety of modern play equipment for children of all ages.

The children will be able to enjoy anti-wrap swings, basket swing, multi-play units, rotators, springies and an impressive new zipslide.

The new facility replaces a play area which had equipment dating back as far
as 1967. A spokesperson for East Dunbartonshire Council said: “Another bright feature of the play area is a wetpour safety surface, complete
with bright colourful graphics.”

Councillor Stewart
MacDonald said he was delighted to open the new playpark.

He told the Herald: “I am delighted to open this fantastic play area which I am sure is going to be a much-
welcomed amenity for local children and families.

“Our thanks also go to Dawn Homes for their generous donation of £48,450 towards this project.

“This is a complete transformation.

“What we have now is a colourful, safe and exciting play area for children of all ages and I’m sure the local community will be thrilled.”

Provost Una Walker posted on the council’s Facebook page: “I just wish there was enough money to upgrade
all our play parks to this
standard.”
