One of Bearsden’s most magnificent buildings, Boclair House, situated at the foot of Boclair Hill, is set to become a prestigious wedding venue.

Manorview Hotels aspire to transform this Grade B listed building and the surrounding two acres of landscaped gardens, and they have recently applied for planning permission and listed building consent to make this happen.

Manorview Hotel Group has submitted a planning application for a single storey ground floor extension to the rear elevation of Boclair House on Milngavie Road.

They have also asked for permission to create new stone steps and a bandstand in the front gardens, to replace the existing metal handrail to the entrance with stone balusters and erect a new timber fence to the boundary as well as an external store and install glazed roof lights to the existing loggia roof.

Boclair House was used as council offices by East Dunbartonshire Council until 2011 and put up for sale in 2012.
