The petition reads: “Billy Connolly has been one of the world’s best comedian’s for several decades. And we think the best way to honour his work is to build a statue in his home city of Glasgow to thank him for a lifetime of laughs!”

It received over a hundred signatures on the first day of its launch (Friday)
