A petition for a statue of Billy Connolly to be built in Glasgow has been started by a radio station.
Radio Clyde 1 wants Glasgow City Council to recognise the achievements of the Big Yin.
Clyde 1 station breakfast presenter George Bowie has been talking about the Glasgow-born on his show after he was given a special achievement award at the National Television Awards this week.
The petition reads: “Billy Connolly has been one of the world’s best comedian’s for several decades. And we think the best way to honour his work is to build a statue in his home city of Glasgow to thank him for a lifetime of laughs!”
It received over a hundred signatures on the first day of its launch (Friday)
