While community group South Seeds has been forced to cancel other gardening sessions, it has relaunched the adopt-a-raised-bed project at The Croft, its community garden at Queens Park Bowling and Tennis Club.

People who are keen to learn how to grow their own food are being urged to apply for the project.

It gives people the chance to grow vegetables, herbs and salad leaves, with the support of an experienced grower.

South Seeds said it will deliver the project in-line with Government guidelines. Groups from different households can’t apply this year and induction sessions may even be one-to-one.

Applications – found at southseeds.org/adopt-a-bed-at-the-croft-application-extension – must be submitted by 9am on April 13.

Only applications from people who live within 20 minutes of The Croft will be accepted.
