People urged to get behind new green recycling scheme

Readers in the district are being urged to get behind a new green initiative, Pass it On, to help reduce waste.

The event which finishes on Sunday is urging people to support a national drive to get swapping, donating, sharing and repairing.

It has been organised by Zero Waste Scotland to show the huge benefits of passing on items that someone else might find useful.

East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action’s Zero Waste team are holding a swap shop for staff to trade their unwanted items for something new. They will also be running a Green Office Swap Shop which will see them team up with the council to pass on items from council offices that are no longer used to local charities. More information at
