THE High School of Glasgow Junior School class diary:

Monday - Mrs Chen will take part in the morning assembly for Chinese New Year. In the afternoon assessments will continue for entry to Kindergarten in August 2012 and again on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. After school there will be a Triangular swimming gala at Whitehill Pool. School finishes early at 12.30pm for J1-J6 with after school care available until 6pm due to the entrance tests for J2-J6.

Thursday - assembly will be led by Adrienne Cartwright in the morning. Junior 4’s will visit Glasgow Cathedral in the morning and Hopscotch Theatre Company will perform ‘Tam O’Shanter’ to Junior 5.

Friday - Junior 6M will visit the Centre of New Enlightenment TCoNE at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the morning. After school the Super Club will visit Lendrick Muir until Sunday.

Saturday - Junior 6(A) and (B) Rugby teams will play George Watson’s College at home in the morning.

Tomorrow (Saturday) sports fixtures: hockey: 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI, 4th XI, 1st year A B & C (H); 3rd year A, B & C, 2nd year A, B & C , Transitus A B & C (A) v George Heriot’s School.

Rugby: 1st XV, 2nd XV, U16 XV, 2nd year A & B (H); 3rd year A, 1st year A B & C, Transitus A & B, J6 A& B (A) v George Heriot’s School.

Monday - girls compete in a Primary Triangular Swimming Gala v Glasgow Academy and Jordanhill School. Dof E Bronze Award (Ptarmigan) Training 7 takes place at 4.45pm.

Tuesday - the AH modern studies annual trip to Westminster departs on Tuesday (until January 26) and there will be a SCIS Chemistry Masterclass, at University of St Andrews.

Wednesday - entrance tests will be held for Transitus to fourth year. There will be no school for pupils in Transitus to 6th year (except 3rd year monitors and prelim candidates). The WOSIS chemistry meeting takes place at Anniesland at 4.30pm.

Thursday - senior and junior inter-house chess competitions: Bannerman v Law; Clyde v Moore

will be played and the S1/S2 rugby tour to Ireland parents’ information meeting is at 5pm.

Friday - SQA prelims end. Pupils will be competing in the SSSA senior snow ski race at The Lecht and there is a West District indoor hockey practise from 4.30pm to 6pm.
