News from the schools

THE High School of Glasgow Junior School class diary:

Monday - there will be a prizegiving rehearsal in the Junior School gym hall in the morning and a talent show going on all day.

Tuesday - there will be a prizewinners rehearsal at the Senior School in the morning.

Wednesday - there will be Junior School prizegiving at 2pm at the Senior School. The prizes will be presented by Mrs Gillian Miller L.C.S.T.

The Junior School closes for summer after the prizegiving and will re-open again on Tuesday, August 23.

Saturday - cricket: 1st XI (A) v Gordonstoun School 3rd year, 2nd year A (A); 1st year A, Transitus A, J6 A (H) v Kelvinside Academy 2nd XI, 2nd year B (A); 1st year B, Transitus B, J6 B (A) v Wellington School.

Sunday - cricket: 1st XI (A) v Glenalmond College

Monday - the annual Wimbledon trip, house meetings will be at 9am, prizewinners rehearsals will be at 9.30am, Glasgow Schools’ multi-events competition (S1-S6) will be at Hutchesons’ Grammar School at 10am. School ends at 3.10pm and there will be a summer choral Ccncert, Requiem (Faure), at Paisley Abbey at 7pm.

Tuesday - Junior School prizegiving rehearsal and girls’house tennis competition are at 9.30am, the inter-house debate is at 1.40pm and school ends at 3.10pm, there will be golf staff v pupils.

Wednesday - final assembly is at 9am, the mystery trip departs at 9.55am, school ends at 12.15pm, there will be Junior School prizegiving in the Assembly Hall at 2pm.

Thursday - there will be a prizewinners report at 9.45am, there will be a form period at 9.50am, there will be a senior school prizegiving in the Assembly Hall at 10.30am with guest of honour - Lord Hamilton, Lord President of the Court of Session and Lord Justice, The end of term is at 12.15pm and Transitus – S3 reports will be issued. There will be a President’s lunch at 12.45pm.

Friday - the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award gold qualifying venture goes to the Cairngorms until June 28.
