Sainsbury’s has announced an October opening date for its new Local store on Milngavie Road, Bearsden.
The Sainsbury’s Local will be coming to the site of the former service station opposite Kessington Hall.
Andrew McPhail, regional acquisitions manager at Sainsbury’s, said: “I am happy to confirm that Sainsbury’s will open a new convenience store in Bearsden.
“This is a location we have long held a desire to have a store.
“We believe it will bring new choice and convenience to Bearsden shoppers.
“Sainsbury’s is delighted to be bringing back to life a vacant site, and we look forward to welcome our first customers towards the end of the year.”
The store will have a small in-store bakery as well as an ATM machine.
Twenty jobs will be created, and Mr McPhail says the majority of these will go to local people.
Sainsbury’s was founded in 1869 and today operates over 1,200 supermarkets.
