BEARSDEN Literary Society is moving to a new home this year.
It will now meet in the lower hall at St Andrew’s RC Church and the first meeting will be on October 8, starting at 7.45pm.
The society has a long history - first meeting in 1892 and since then has met every second Monday over the winter months.
Its initial aims were to encourage literary effort and discussion among its members.
The society broadened its syllabus in the 1920s and now offers a wide range of topics.
In recent years the society has had an impressive range of speakers including Liz Lochead, Bernard McClaverty and Donald Findlay QC.
