Mugdock Park hosts Middle of Scotland Science festival

Middle of Scotland Science festival takes place at Mugdock Country Park this Sunday (October 9) from 11am until 7.45pm.

The free day of science and fun will have a range of science activities for all ages taking place around the park.

Some of the activities include getting up close with Really Small Science and Make it Molecular; Reach for the stars with rocket building; sun spotting and the Cosmic Way Roadshow. There will also be the opportunity to check your fitness with Rheumatosphere and FitLab or test yourself with 21st Century BioChallenges.

Or you could exploring the great outdoors with pond-dipping, weather forecasting, bird ringing and fungus hunts.

Other activities include taking a look at the science behind food and diets with healthy eating activities. There is a special festival tent, where local brewer JawBrew reveals why yeast is important in our food and drink.

At the end of the day join Glasgow University physicists for a special Sci-screening of The Martian from 5pm.
