MP holds surgery on ‘Bedroom Tax’

People facing hardship through the controversial ‘bedroom tax’ had the chance to quiz welfare experts and MP Gregg McClymont recently.

East Dunbartonshire Citizens Advice Bureau, Hillhead Housing Association, East Dunbartonshire Council and the Department for Work and Pensions were guests of the MP at his special arranged surgery in Kirkintilloch Miners Welfare.

Local residents sought advice and help, including some who are struggling with the ‘Bedroom Tax’.

McClymont said: “I hope that those who came along felt they received straightforward answers, and feel more confident in planning their future.”

The MP for Kirkintilloch East added: “The hated bedroom tax has done nothing but impose a financial burden on many vulnerable people who have been in their homes for many years.”
