AN award winning Kazakhstan-born pianist is going perform the opening concert of Milngavie Music Club’s winter season at Cairns Church, Milngavie.
Oxana Shevchenko, the sensational young winner of the 2010 Scottish international piano competition, wowed critics and the audience with her playing and won the coveted first prize.
The Herald’s music critic, Michael Tumelty, wrote ‘She has been frankly gobsmacking ... total power, complete clarity of articulation and a phenomenal level of musicianship that is already world class’ after her final performance with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra drew an ovation from the packed hall.
Oxana plays music by Mozart, Stravinsky and Ravel, at 7.30pm on Friday, September 28.
