Milngavie Heritage and History Group are holding their next meeting on Thursday, November 6, at 2pm in the Milngavie Community Centre.
The topic will be on the subject of the ferries that used to use the Clyde before many of the modern bridges were built across the Clyde.
It is entitled ‘Lacing the River and the speaker will be local historian Don Martin.
Don is well placed to speak on the subject as he has devoted many years of study to the subject.
He is secretary of Milngavie Heritage Centre and has a great appreciation of local history.
When most people think of ferries across the Clyde they think of the Renfrew Ferry, but Don will be talking about many of the other boats that used to ply their trade across the Clyde. New member are most welcome.
