MUM’S the word for a glamorous wrestler who is aiming to be crowned the next Miss Scotland.
Part-time model Siobhan Scott only decided to put herself forward at the St Enoch Shopping Centre, Glasgow, at the insistence of her mum.
The Milngavie beauty (25) is hoping to be among the 30 girls shortlisted in early April after she attended a day of interviews and a photo shoot.
Siobhan said: “It was my mum’s idea. She dragged me along after the organisers raised the maximum age to 25.”
The office manager, who has done some promotional work for companies, is also a keen wrestler – a skill she learnt from her father who has been doing it for the past 50 years.
She said: “It is great for keep fit and really helps with confidence. My brother and sister are also wrestling coaches, but I also have a girlie side too which I get from my mum who is not really sporty at all.”
And her passion for wresting has meant she is only the second woman in Scotland to gain a coaching certificate.
Siobhan added: “I like the rough and tumble of wrestling, but also the fashion and glamour side too. That is why I love taking part in Miss Scotland.
“Many people think it is catty, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. All the girls really support each other and even at the age of 25 I have made new friends.”
Previously Siobhan (pictured above) has represented Glasgow as the Face of the City in Paris – one of Europe’s biggest beauty pageants which attracted 150 other girls, each representing a European city.
She has also won a beauty competition to be the Face of Smiley White – a teeth whitening company.
