Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir will stage their 6th bi-annual Charity Concert and Primary Choral Festival on behalf of Radio Lollipop at Yorkhill in St Mary’s Parish Church, Kirkintilloch on Thursday, November 26.
This year five primary schools - Lenzie, Lenzie Moss, Harestanes, Oxgang, and Millersneuk - will have school choirs competing for the Blincow Shield sponsored by Jakemans Confectionary.
There will also be monetary prizes to go towards music equipment in their schools.
Each school will sing two items including one Scottish song.
The evening’s highlight is always at the end when the school choirs join the Male Voice Choir to sing a joint item.
The massed choir will total around 200 singers with the ages ranging all the way from 8 to 80.
KMCV conductor, Sally McLellan, said before the event: “The standard of the school choirs improve every year and I would like to personally thank all the pupils and staff of the competing schools in taking part this year for a very worthwhile cause.”
She added: “The choir are very grateful to St Mary’s Parish Church, East Dunbartonshire Council, Jakemans Confectioners, and Kenwil Print and Design for their support in this event.
Tickets are priced at £4 for adults and £2 for primary school aged children.
They can be purchased from any choir member, any of the participating schools or by phoning 0141 775 2437.
