Five marathon mums have joined forces to tackle an incredible 130 miles between them in a bid to raise cash for cancer research.
The women from Bishopbriggs had hoped to raise £3,000 for Cancer Research UK after tackling the Greater Manchester Marathon on April 10 this year.
A close friend passed away from the disease in November.
But as of last week, their justgiving page had collected more than double that amount - an impressive £7,570.
The mums, who met seven years ago when they were all members of Springburn Harriers running club, have been overhwelmed by the response from supporters .
The five are made up of Sioban Saba, Celia Dourish, Marianne Mallon, Christine Hadfield and Anne Marie Letham.
Sioban said: “When someone close to us passed away from cancer we all wanted to do the run to raise money for research.
“We have 15 children between us and it has been a great thing for our kids to see.
“One of the girls finished the marathon in 3hours 55mins. The times ranged from this to 4hours 15mins so very respectable!”
On the team’s justgiving page, Christine said: “As much as this is about covering 26 miles each, it’salso about friendship, something which has carried us through tough runs and tough times.
“What started as a chat over a glass of wine or two has taken on greater significance.
“Over the past year we have all witnessed first hand the brutal cruelty of cancer as we lost someone dear to us.
“We know that many families have suffered at the hands of this diseaseand we’re hoping to raise as much money as possible for cancer research. “
