Two local dancers, who are part of a group which uses illusion to impress the audience, have made it through to the live final of this year’s Got To Dance on Sky1.

Jaimie Macrae (21) and Stephanie Taylor (19) from Baljaffray in Bearsden, both pupils at Bearsden Academy, are part of a theatrical dance act called ‘Dance Illusion’ which incorporates optical illusions into their routine, leaving the audience wondering how the trick was performed.

Dance Illusion is choreographed by Robert Hamilton who runs Dancepoint in Glasgow.

Jaimie and Stephanie were both in ‘Fear of the Unknown’ in 2012, narrowly missing out winning the Got To Dance title. They got to the last three in the final at Olympia in London. Stephanie also finished in the last three in 2010 with ‘The Box’ dance group.

Dance Illusion’s final performance will be screened tomorrow (Friday, August 29) and if they win they get £250,000 prize money.

Jaimie said: “We are flying the flag for Scotland as the only Scottish act. We are absolutely buzzing to be in the final! It means so much to us all, our hard work has paid off. We can’t thank everyone enough for voting and hope they’ll do the same on Friday night. Every vote counts!”

Stephanie said; “ We are just so excited. We loved performing the semi-final - we love performing live on stage.”

Votes cost 5p on a BT landline and voting is free via the website sky.com/dance
