Keep warm in Fintry when it gets all wintry

RESIDENTS in Fintry are being invited to find out how to save energy and find alternative ways to heat their homes.

Matthew Black, community energy adviser at Fintry Development Trust, said: “The nights are drawing in and it’s not getting any warmer. If you remember last winter then you will understand that keeping everyone warm, comfortable and with access to heating is important.

“Alternative heating systems such as solar hot water, heat pumps and biomass boilers can offer a more comfortable, efficient and cheaper form of heating.

“There are already many examples of renewable heating and energy generation in homes throughout Fintry available for viewing by arrangement.

“If you are considering replacing your existing heating system and have something in mind, or if you would just like to know more about the different technologies, options and sources of funding, please contact me.”

There are still a limited number of FDT household Grants of up to £500 available to put towards a variety of renewable and energy saving projects. For more information go to the ‘news’ section of the website (, or contact Matthew, or the Trust directly on
