It’s now easier to register births, deaths and marriages

The council is now able to offer a registration appointment facility, as well as a drop in service at its Hubs and registration office.

Customers are now able to make appointments in advance, for a time that suits them to register a birth or death or to discuss and complete marriage or civil partnership paperwork.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie, Convenor of Policy and Resources said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to access registration services in East Dunbartonshire at what can be a difficult time, either following the death of a loved

one or when you’re dealing with a new baby.”

To book an appointment and to know what to bring call 0300 123 4510 - from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm - or drop into any Community Hub.

Councillor Geekie added: “I hope that customers find these changes helpful and that the new appointment system will be more convenient for those who use it.”

Soon the council will also be offering appointments for Blue Badges and in the future customers will be able to book their appointments online.
