Bearsden amateur drama group Kilmardinny Player’s are busy rehearsing for their first Christmas panto at the moment.
Member of Kilmardinny Players, Robert Tennant, said: “The club decided to put on a pantomime this year instead of our normal drama play to try and get more younger people interested in amateur theatre in the local community.
“The pantomime we have decided to perform is “Cinderella” by James Barry and we are really excited about it!
“Everyone seems to be enjoying it so far.
“We hope lots of families will come along to see it - we aim to provide some first class light-hearted entertainment in the run up to Christmas.”
This tells the well-known traditional rags to riches story with Cinderella being played by Molly Crighton, Prince Charming by Duncan Daniels, Dandini by Anna Cowan, the Baron by Allan Cowan, Baroness - Christine MacCormick, fairy - Jane MacConnacher, ugly sisters Fifi by Paul Cockcroft and Frufru by David Hutchison and Buttons byRobert Tennant. He will also direct the performance.
The group rehearses on Monday and Thursday evenings in Kilmardinny Arts Centre Bearsden from 7.30pm.
They would be delighted to hear from anyone who would be interested in helping with the production backstage or front of house, (the secretary’s details are on the website).
The pantomime runs from Wednesday, November 27 until Saturday, November 30 at 7.30pm.
There is also a matinee show on Saturday, November 30 at 2pm as well as the evening performance.
