A Bearsden resident is
worried there will be a serious accident on Thorn Road in Bearsden if motorists continue to park irresponsibly.
Mark Esdaile from Thorn Road was so angry that yet another driver had parked on the double yellow lines that he took a photo and sent it into us.
He spotted the car last Thursday morning at 8.40am and witnessed a mother with young children and a pram being forced to walk on the road to get around the vehicle.
Mark said: “This is so dangerous - I really hope that by printing this picture we can make people think twice before they park on double yellow lines.
“This happens all of the time on Thorn Road and heaven forbid one day their could be a terrible accident.”
Inspector Gerry Corrigan from Kirkintilloch Police Office said: “Police Scotland in East Dunbartonshire continue to work with the council’s Community Protection Services to tackle careless or dangerous parking, it is an area that we have a great deal of focus on at the moment, with safety around schools being a particular priority. Whilst we continue to have proactive patrols, I would also ask anyone who observes careless or dangerous parking to contact Police on 101.”
