VISITING Mugdock Country Park during the summer school holiday period has been made easier following the introduction of a free new bus link from Milngavie Railway Station to the park’s Craigend Visitor Centre each weekend until the end of August.
The service will leave the train terminus every hour from 12.30pm, leaving the country park on the hour up until 5pm.
East Dunbartonshire Provost Eric Gotts, chairman of the Country Park’s Joint Management Committee, said: “This is a positive service development for those many people who are unable to drive or do not own a vehicle but are looking for a great day out. We hope the community take advantage of this free service.”
Vice chairman, Councillor Colin O’Brien of Stirling Council, added: “Mugdock Country Park is an immensely popular visitor destination for local communities and the new service widens the access choice for visitors.
“This initiative also offers visitors travelling to the area by train or bus, a better link to the park on these days.”
