Milngavie youngster Guiliana Gizzi (11), a pupil at St Aloysius’ College, was given the exciting task of switching on the Queen Street train station Christmas lights this week after winning a competition earlier this year.

Guiliana and her classmate, Tom, who won the competition for creating a poster and information video for the station, were joined by 40 of their fellow St Aloysius’ College school friends who sang Christmas carols underneath the tree.

Dressed head to toe in tinsel and Santa hats, Guiliana and her fellow pupils spread festive joy to delighted commuters in the city centre station before everyone joined together to countdown to the switch-on.
