PLANS to get a permanent exhibition site for Milngavie Heritage Centre are a step closer after the proposals were discussed at the group’s second AGM.
The organisation also discussed plans for a week-long Heritage Exhibition from Saturday, August 27, to be held in the Court Room at Milngavie Town Hall - the preferred location for the permanent home of the group.
Chairman Neil Weir talked to the audience, which included Provost Eric Gotts, other local councillors, members of Milngavie Community Council, Milngavie Historical Society, Bearsden Historical Society and representatives from local schools’ PTAs, about the group’s plans.
More information on this and the group can be found at www.milngavieheritage.org
Mr Weir also appealed to people to donate items for the forthcoming exhibition.
The plan is to have numerous displays of local interest, including school projects, recollections of former landmarks and items for organisations both past and present in the community.
He said: “The centre would be grateful for any contributions that can be made available for the exhibition.”
