Here's a sporting chance to have your say

East Dunbartonshire Sports Council - established in 1996 - exists to promote and develop an interest and participation in all sports throughout the local area.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of East Dunbartonshire Sports Council takes place on Thursday, July 28 at 7pm in the Conference Room at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre, and all local sports clubs and organisations are welcome to attend.

Any East Dunbartonshire sports club or organisation not yet a member of the Sports Council is encouraged to come along and join at the AGM, to have their say and to enjoy the benefits that membership offers.

Affiliation to the Sports Council provides access to club, marketing and coaching grants for clubs and talented sport performer grants for individuals (subject to terms and conditions).

Sports Council Chairman Lee Hemphill said: “By getting involved with Sport ED, there is an opportunity for clubs and their members to share knowledge, meet important local sports contacts, but more importantly access funding

and get support for training, competitions and championships.

“It’s important for our clubs to get as much support as possible to ensure they are ready for any additional interest generated.”
