Help Bearsden Academy pupils raise cash to go to Bolivia and Chile next year

THERE is still time to help pupils from Bearsden Academy raise the cash they need to take part in a World Challenge Trip to Bolivia and Chile next year.

Tickets are still available for a special dinner dance they have organised at the Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport on Friday, October 18.

There will be loads of fantastic prizes up for grabs in an auction on the night including a signed, framed and mounted print of this year’s victorious European Ryder Cup team, a round of golf for four people at Gleneagles, a chance to play at the exclusive Loch Lomond Golf Club, plus a host of prizes from local businesses, such as Kallos Beauty and American Golf in Bearsden.

The event is being hosted by Alison Walker and Sanjeev Kohli, who plays Naveed in Still Game, and includes a delicious dinner, followed by a George Michael/Elton John tribute act and disco.

The fifth and sixth year pupils hope to work in a local community in Bolivia and Chile next year but each pupil has to raise £4,500 each for the trip.

Alison Walker said: “The entertainment will be amazing and with so many terrific prizes up for grabs it is sure to be memorable.

“The pupils have worked hard to pull it together and would love support from the local community – the more the merrier!”

Tickets cost £45 and are available by e-mailing
