Janice Clement’s pet Henry was knocked down and killed by a vehicle around 10pm on Wednesday outside a house at Meadowburn in the town.

She has put out an appeal on Facebook to try to track down the two strangers who aranged for Henry’s body to be taken away.

Janice posted on FB site Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch and Lenzie: “We understand that our beloved cat Henry was knocked down and killed on Wednesday evening (1st June) around 10pm outside 128 Meadowburn, Bishopbriggs.

“Our neighbour across the road tells us that a young couple stopped to try and help him, and arranged for someone to collect his poor little body.

“We have not been able to find out where he went, so if you are, or know, the couple who were kind enough to try and help, can you please contact me.”
