Have your say on traffic restrictions around new school

A consultation event is being held next week to discuss traffic management around a new school.

East Dunbartonshire Council is hosting the drop-in event regarding the streets around the new Kirkintilloch Primary School for children at St Flannan’s and St Agatha’s Primary Schools.

It will take place at Hillhead Community Centre, 169 Meiklehill Road, Kirkintilloch, on Tuesday, June 21, from 2-8pm.

Anyone who would like to view and provide initial comments on the proposed traffic measures being considered for Newdyke Road, Langmuir Road and Hillhead Road is invited to attend the open drop-in community information event.

They will be able to view the proposals that are currently on the table, find out more and have their say.

Representatives from the council and transport consultants, Curtins, will be on hand to provide information and answer any questions.

Council leader Rhondda Geekie is encouraging local residents to come along to the event.

She said: “As with all our new schools being built through the Primary School Improvement Programme, we want to gather the views of local residents and parents of pupils on the proposed traffic restrictions surrounding the new schools.

“I would encourage the local community and parents of pupils who will be attending this new school in Kirkintilloch to take this opportunity to come along, ask questions and have their say on the proposals.”
