A visit to the Young Enterprise Dunbartonshire Trade Fair could find all your affordable Christmas stocking fillers under one roof.
The event is being held on Saturday, November 29, in the Clyde Shopping Centre, Clydebank, between 9.30am and 3pm.
The stalls will be set up in Sylvania Way, next to BHS and Dunnes, and you will be able to meet with creative students from schools across Dunbartonshire who will be selling the products they have developed in their Young Enterprise companies.
The Young Enterprise Company Programme is UK wide and encourages school groups to form companies which devise, produce and sell products in the run up to Christmas and beyond. The participants take the roles you would find in any company with a managing director at the helm, a marketing director controlling marketing activities and a financial director, plus others in supporting roles.
The programme encourages entrepreneurship in young people and is key to developing some of the business skills so highly prized in school and university leavers. Participants say that the programme improves their confidence and self esteem, as well as their understanding of business.
Schools come from across West and East Dunbartonshire, including Helensburgh, Dumbarton, Clydebank, Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch are taking part.
Jack Rudram, chair of the Young Enterprise Dunbartonshire Area Board, said: “This is a great opportunity for everyone to buy exciting and useful gifts designed and produced by some of the most creative young people in Scotland, and at the same time help them develop the entrepreneurial skills deemed so necessary for our country’s future economy.
