It’s not too late to get tickets for Milngavie’s first Beer Festival - which is coming to the town centre on Saturday, September 10.
The family friendly Bavarian themed event from 12pm to 8pm has been organised by the BID (Business Improvement District) the organisers of past events such as the summer Classic Car Show and the Christmas Lights ‘Switch On’.
As with the Classic Car Show and the Christmas Lights Switch On, Milngavie BID’s main aim is to bring the community and local businesses together as well as increase the footfall in our town centre.
Local couple and owners of micro-brewery Jaw Brew, Mark and Allison Hazell are helping to source a quality range of independent Scottish Breweries such as WEST Alchemy, Strathaven Ales, Fallen, Bute and St Andrews Brewery.
There will be 30 high quality craft beers to sample, and for those who don’t like beer there will also be wine and cocktails.
Garvie & Co will be supplying wine and Finsbay, the new addition to the village, will be ‘shaking and stirring’ the cocktails as well as hosting the after festival party.
Milngavie BID Co-ordinator, Ania Surma, said: “This is a very exciting time for Milngavie. We have seen an amazing uptake on our events and the village has been full during both the Classic Car Show and the Christmas events, now its time for a Beer Festival!”
Local bands will perform live music as well as upcoming solo artists and the Nova Scotia Folk Club!
There will also be a hog roast, hot dogs, burgers and pretzels. Tickets available from Art Forum, Driftwood and Haydock Music shop.
To purchase tickets online please visit the Eventbrite page. Each ticket for the festival entitles the buyer entry to the festival area, a wristband, branded beer glass and The Beer Festival Programme with a list of all the beers and tasting notes.
Tickets for the festival can only be purchased by those who are over 18 years old and have valid ID. Please make sure that you bring you ID along on the day to avoid any disappointment and please don’t be offended if and when you are asked. Under 18s go free to the event and they will be provided with a special wristband.
