A troupe of talented musicians from Germany who have been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe are coming to Mugdock Country Park soon.
ACCOLLAGE - the Accordion Orchestra of Lower Saxony (Northern Germany) - will be performing at Mugdock’s bandstand on Saturday, August 22 from 2-4pm.
This is their first Scottish tour and they will be aiming to get toes tapping with a mix of accordion-based soul, pop and rock.
Councillor Eric Gotts, Chair of Mugdock Country Park Joint Management Committee, said: “We are delighted we have such a prestigious band perform at Mugdock and I’m sure this will be very popular with visitors.
“ACCOLLAGE are known for interpreting pop, rock and classical music on accordions, so it’s set to be an entertaining and potentially unique concert.
“I hope as many people as possible come along to see ACCOLLAGE and also take time to discover the delights of the country park.
“Concerts like this and the recent MugStock festival will hopefully lead to more events taking place within the breathtaking grounds of Mugdock Country Park - with resulting benefits for the park and the East Dunbartonshire economy.”
ACCOLLAGE was founded in 1985 as the National Youth Accordion Orchestra of Lower Saxony and was open solely to young talented accordionists. It has since progressed to include accordion players, drummers and bassists of all ages.
Musical director Ralf Schwarzien said: “As a group we have always liked to push the boundaries of what people traditionally think of accordion music and we can’t wait to enjoy a big garden party with Scottish music fans.”
