A Bearsden funeral planning service is one of only five Scottish firms to be in a top UK league table of the fastest growning private businesses.
Golden Charter has made it on to this year’s Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table for the first time in 75th position.
The league table - now in its 18th year - ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales over a three year period.
Ronnie Wayte, chief executive at Golden Charter, said: “Securing a position on the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table is an impressive feat, especially in this highly competitive and rapidly changing market.
“We are delighted to prove that fast growing companies are not limited to Greater London. There are only five Scottish companies in the top 100 and we are proud that we have built our success from our base in the West of Scotland.”
The company, which specialises in later life planning also offers a range of legal products and services, was recently recognised at the Glasgow Business Awards being named Glasgow’s Most Outstanding Business of the Year.
Sir Richard Branson of Virgin, the title sponsor of the league table throughout its lifespan, said: “This year’s Fast Track 100 is packed full of examples of entrepreneurs taking on many different challenges head-on.
“Their success is based on real team spirit and it is this togetherness, above and beyond any other factor, that sets great businesses apart from also-rans.
“The Fast Track 100 are testament to that spirit of creativity and camaraderie.”
Sir Richard Branson will host a dinner for the companies listed in the Fast Track 100 at his family home
in Oxfordshire next April.
Golden Charter was established in 1989 and is owned by an association of independent funeral directors. The company can call on over 3,300 independent funeral directors in the UK to arrange a funeral plan that suites individuals.
