Funding opportunity for East Dunbartonshire voluntary and community groups

Help is at hand for community groups and voluntary organisations struggling to find sources of funding.

External funding is becoming increasingly important for voluntary organisations and community groups as public funding becomes more difficult to access.

The Funder Finder Event at Kirkintilloch High School on Wednesday, June 11 will provide an excellent opportunity for groups and organisations from across East Dunbartonshire to find out more about a wide range of funding opportunities and a chance to meet the funders themselves.

The free event, organised by East Dunbartonshire Council in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action, will start at 5.30pm for registration and is expected to run until 8pm.

Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: “This will be a fantastic chance for local community groups and charities to find out more about what funding opportunities are available to them.

“They will be able to have an informal chat directly with the funders, who will help them find out what funders are out there and if they are eligible for the funding.

“They can even help in filling out funding applications and offer advice and tips on increasing sustainability through fundraising and other work.”

In addition to national funders, there will be stalls dedicated to local funders such as the EDC Community Grant Scheme, Community Safety Fund and the Empowered Project Fund.

The event is free of charge and refreshments will be available. To book your place please contact Ashleigh Grant on or phone 0300 1234510.
