Four seriously injured in road smash

Four people, one a 14-year-old boy, have been seriously injured after a two-car accident on a country road.

The A81 at Strathblane, Milngavie was closed for nine hours yesterday (Sunday, February 11) after the horrific smash as fire and ambulance services attended the scene.

The 33-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Astra, 30-year-old male front seat passenger and the 14-year-old rear seat passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow. The teenager was then transferred to the sick children’s hospital.

The 22-year-old male driver of the other vehicle, a Dacia Duster, suffered ankle and rib injuries and was taken to Paisley Royal Alexandra Infirmary.

The condition of the four victims is unknown at the moment and a police spokesperson said this morning (Monday) that inquiries were continuing into the accident.
