Flower show was a spring success

Kirkintilloch Horticultural Society recently held its annual Members Spring Show.

While judging of exhibits took place Jim Williams of the Scottish Branch of the National Vegetable Society gave a talk on the preparation and presentation of vegetables for showing at flower shows.

The next meeting will be on April 21 at 7.30pm at Enterprise House and the speaker will be Clare Darlaston on swifts.

The show winners were Hannah Gordon (flowering plant), Paul Malcolm (hyacinths, narcissi/daffodils and members’ choice), Elizabeth McDonald (living plant arrangement, best in show), Andrew Lothian (primula/polyanthus) and Maree Matheson (spring cut flowers).
